IN SEARCH OF A COMMON

“Our tomorrow must include everyone, and everyone should have access to our Tomorrow. With our publication we [ … ] aremaking thoughts accessible to all of those who are seeking to know, we are appropriating academia. If we want a compositionist future, we need all to bring their share.”

The group came together because of their interest in disrupting the nature/culture binary, and explored how this binary affected them personally, how this disruption was already taking place in Rotterdam and how the group could contribute to furthering this process. On the basis of many conversations with initiators of communal green spaces in Rotterdam, the team created a bilingual zine with a map of Rotterdam’s communal gardens and other initiatives that re-imagine the city as a greener space. The zine also contained an introduction to new materialist theory about interconnectedness and symbiosis, which was presented in an adapted form to reach a wider audience.

This group consisted of 7 students, from WdKA (fashion and graphic design (Dual Degree)), Codarts (Latin vocals), EUR (EUC - majors: International Relations and Political Science, Political Philosophy and Cultural Analysis, ESE - Econometrics, ESHCC - IBACS).
